When we arrived we immediately noticed a large party that took up maybe half of a side section. There were five other tables, and a few people sitting directly at the bar. We were seated by Steve, in what is considered a closing section, or lead section. (And I know this because I’ve worked for Applebee’s at a different location.) The section we were seated at was obviously not the same section that Steve was serving. He immediately was seated another table directly after ours, so he was responsible for a large party, and three tables at this point.

We went into our local Applebee’s to enjoy a late night meal.

First they forgot an item I ordered, (which i shldve checked before i left) but they did give me a $15 manager meal discount for coming back from home. (only reason they got the 2stars) the left food was fries and THEY WERE HORRIBLE.....spoke with Ashley(manager)....she first told me they were HOT...BS!!! Those fries were worse than BURGER KING fries. The manager Ashley expressed sincerity but basically turned around and gave me MORE HORRIBLE fries. The Ribs that were ordered were BURNT with GLOBS OF SAUCE drenched in them for disguise....the pasta was bland. The only thing we enjoyed was the Salad.... in which we were given not enough dressing for them. Needless to say, we wont be returning and we live in the neighborhood.

Another male server, (the original server for the section we were sat in), was finishing closing a ticket at one table, the only table he seemed to be serving. And the third server on the floor, in the bar area, not the bartender, had two of her own tables.

And we were the second to last to be seated. We waited 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence, (other than Steve, who seated us). And when we were acknowledged, it was by the manager himself, James. He did rectify the situation.

AWESOME AWESOME and did I say AWESOME. First person I met was Sumner the hostess she was very nice and friendly. Then met Megan the server she was friendly HAPPY to be there and prompt. Then met the manager Ashley really nice I can see why they are so nice the manager being AWESOME makes the server want to be a team player and the hostess started it out great. Now the meal Butcher beef WOW my new FAVORITE the potatoes are to die for and the beef perfection the flavors on point. But best of all was the environment will recommend to friend and family.ol

However, THERE IS A SEVERE LACK OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN TEAM MEMBERS. If someone is cut near the end of a shift, that person needs to notify every other server as to the change in roaster, especially if that person was supposed to be a closing leader server, but their role has changed. BECAUSE, customers end up getting overlooked, upset, then the manager is forced to rectify the situation, and the company loses money.

I am rating a four star, because James rectified the situation, and the contact we experienced with Steve was highly satisfactory. If it were not for these two guys, the rating would have been much more unpleasant. And if I could rate the other two irresponsible servers individually, they would receive a one for the original server in the section we were sat, and a two for the server in the bar section. (She receives a two because she helped deliver our food, the original guy ignored our existence completely.)

Also, THERE IS AN EXTREME LACK OF TEAMWORK. The most important person in a resteraunt is the customer, so, REGARDLESS of whether or not you are responsible for serving a table, it shows good work ethics, better comraderie, and an overall urgency towards customer satisfaction when a server, first, notices a lack in service, and second, extends an offer of assistance. Such as stopping by the table and saying “Good evening, my name is ________. I noticed Steve hasn’t had a chance to get to you yet, could I maybe extend an offer of drinks while you wait?” This would have taken maybe two minutes tops to say, and then deliver the drinks.

Party of eight waited thirty for seating, 45 for food and it was almost cold, but tasty. Two star event,not for vegans.

So now, there are seven tables not including the large party.

Loved my experience here! Nice waiter named Steven made sure our visit was pleasant. The food is amazing and service is awesome too! Definitely going back.
